1. Agreement to terms
By accessing or using the website at akuoptics.co.uk or subscribing to the Aku Optics practice management platform, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you are entering into this agreement on behalf of a business, optical practice or corporate entity, you confirm you have authority to bind that entity.
2. Description of services
Aku Optics Ltd provides a cloud-based software platform for UK optical and audiology practices. Core capabilities include clinical electronic health records, automated patient recall workflows, appointment booking, NHS General Ophthalmic Services claim management, stock and dispensing records, and multi-channel communication tools.
3. Permitted use and acceptable communications
Users of Aku Optics agree to:
- Use the platform in compliance with applicable UK law, clinical standards set by the GOC and the College of Optometrists, and privacy regulation under UK GDPR and PECR.
- Send communications only to recipients who have a legitimate relationship with the practice or have given lawful consent.
- Refrain from sending spam, unsolicited bulk commercial messaging or abusive communications through the platform.
4. Data protection and confidentiality
Both parties agree to comply with applicable data protection law. Aku Optics processes practice data in accordance with our privacy notice and a data processing agreement executed with each client practice.
5. Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in the Aku Optics platform, documentation, algorithms and website remain the exclusive property of Aku Optics Ltd.
6. Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
